I have a scenario where a spouse of an existing TM member is trying to set up his own password for the first time. He gets his authentication email OK, he starts to create his password for the first time and when he is typing in his chosen password, he gets a pop-up that he is creating a password for his wife instead of him. So when trying to do this, he cancels out for now since he does not want to change his wife's existing password. He has his own email address so his email is different from his wife's. They are probably using the same computer, but I don't know for sure. I forgot to ask him that. What does he need to do to get by this issue? Thanks, webmaster for Wry Toast #8358 Dan Robinson

If he's using the same computer and the same browser profile as his wife, and he's letting the browser save the passwords, then I could see this happening. I don't think that browsers cope well with the idea of two logins/passwords for the same site.

I can think of three solutions:

1. Use a different computer (not always a reasonable option)
2. Set up a separate browser profile. This can be a bit challenging to do and use, depending on your level of computer savvy
3. Use a completely different browser from his wife. E.g. Chrome instead of Firefox. As long as he can install software on the computer, this might be the easiest way.

Don't quote me on this, but they could share a password for the site. As long as they use their own names they will only access their own profiles (they will have access to each other's - but presumably they trust each other)

Or one uses the password saved on the browser, and the other agrees not to save his/her password on the browser, and has to enter it on each login.

Yes, either of those options would work.

Again, don't quote me on one of them.... :)
