I am new to being a webmaster for toastmasters [District 32]. In July, D32 added Alaska to our Washington State clubs. This poses a problem as we have people in multiple time zones and everything gets wonky when we add things to the calendar. Any chance we can get this fixed? Thanks,

That is difficult. The system is designed with the presumption that everyone using a particular website is in the same timezone.

I can look into it, but don't expect a quick fix. The only thing I can think of right now is to add an option to the timezone drop down in the Admin Console Basic Settings tab to use the timezone of the user's browser which would make the system adapt. However, there is nothing like that in place right now, and it would take some thought to get it right. I just recently got a timezone issue worked out with agendas... timezones are major pain. :pinch:

If you use the month input format (limit 100 characters) you should be okay. You can type in times or use URLs to link to other pages with time details.

If you use the times in the week or day formats you might have problems. In that case you might be able to get away with offsetting the time for Alaskan events - if they start at 8am, use 9am Washington (calendar) time. They would show up correctly in Alaska. Of course that would confuse anyone from Washington planning to attend an event in Alaska.

Thanks as always for the help. I am just coming back around to checking on this thread. Our district decided that FTH does not have a good solution and we have disabled our calendar and created a custom page with a simple list of dates. This simple solution had the added benefit that many of our members have said that they like the format better.
