I just set up our club's PayPal account yesterday and the link for PayPal (in the email from Treasurer) is not working.

Should I give this transaction a few days to work?

The button code is wrong... It should look similar to:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=8HBNXBHMDAMX6

However, the hosted button id will be specific to your club's Paypal account. (do not use the one above)

The key thing to understand here is that the button code used in email must be strictly a valid URL, nothing else... no html tags will work in it.

Here is why... what you enter for the email button code gets plugged in for "{paypalcode}" in the following html snippet which is what is actually used in the email. Note that it is inserted in a link href, which means it must be a URL only. The resulting html must make sense....
<br><a href="{paypalcode}"><img src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_paynow_LG.gif"></a>

Thank you so much for your help. The "key" word here is to use the "email" tab and I was using the other tab. Works great and now all of my club members will renew their membership dues early and without my "nagging".

Wonderful support.
