All FTH email addresses are forwarding email addresses and distribution lists that forward to real email addresses entered in the admin console (e.g. Membership Management).
So, yes FTH actually will work with your custom domain, but FTH does not provide actual email accounts. Please refer to our documentation for further details. (This is in there, also.) Regards,
