Hi, I'm trying to work out what may be the problem with my clubs website, which is not currently working, and how to go about getting it fixed!

www.ivanhoetoastmasters.org.au/ is our normal website address, however it is not working. I have checked and the domain name registration is current until May 2017.

However, this url to the same site works - 1825172.toastmastersclubs.org/

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Sarah

Not seeing any DNS records for the custom domain name... refer to the following:

support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/dns-settings-overview

Hi Brian - thanks for your info on this. I have logged in to the DNS registrar and the DNS records are in there - seemingly as they should be. I updated our admin console as well. Still not working. I submitted a ticket request to the registrar so will see what they say. It seems to be happening to another account managed by the same registrar.

So, first, I am Steve not Brian. :P

2nd:

a. ViewDNS.info shows no DNS records: viewdns.info/dnsrecord/?domain=www.ivanhoetoastmasters.org.au
b. Dig Web Interface shows no DNS records, even when it is told to use all available name servers:
www.digwebinterface.com/?hostnames=www.i...&ns=all&nameservers=

When I do a save in admin console for your website, our internal dig DNS check is also generating an error.

So, if you are seeing DNS records set per our docs on your registrar's website, you know your domain is not expired, and you know they are having a problem with another website, then yeah, I would recommend going back to them. Give them a reference to our DNS doc if that helps.

Lastly, Brian may be able to do a check on the registrar's DNS servers to see if they are being blocked by our system. Sometimes our system will do that if your registrar is on a block list from setting up shady websites.

Apologies Steve

Thanks for your help. It turns out the host site got bought out by another company and the migration has not worked properly.

Seems like we have a fix in the process of happening... fingers crossed

Cheers
Sarah

Hi Steve,

Unfortunately I am still having problems and am not able to get the custom site up again. Hoping you can offer some more advice.

The other account on the same registrar is back up and running. So it seems that I am still not getting something right.

When I go into the domain host settings I have checked multiple times. There are 3 Class A records and 1 mx record all going to 50.19.253.65 with the custom domain name ivanhoetoastmasters.org.au

The only thing that seems not to be going as it should is in the FTH admin console. I log in via the original url 1825172.toastmastersclubs.org/

I can see that in the custom website domain box it has www.ivanhoetoastmasters.org.au. I take out the www as per the DNS setup instructions and it says there is still an error directing it. I've also attempted to update some keywords and descriptions and the registrar information. However when I click save it seems to have saved (even though saying there is still an error directing) but when I log back in it has defaulted back to the settings before I made the changes (ie adding back the www. and not saving my changes to descriptions and registrar information.

Any thoughts?

still cannot see the records via the online tools.... if you have fixed w/ your registrar, probably just needs some time to propagate through the internet. sometimes we do notice a bit of a lag on changes.
