Any non-member can sent to the vppr email address but for some reason messages generated by facebook are rejected.

I tried a facebook recovery password on my personal facebook page and I do get the recovery email.

Is there a way on our Free Toast site where I can de-activate spam filtering completely to effectively allow any kind of email traffic through on a temporary basis so that I can get the facebook recovery email?

We are not going to kill our spam filter.

However, you can try whitelisting and you can up your spam threshold... that may help.

I am not sure if the emails from facebook are being rejected. Is there a way at your end to check the e-mail log of incoming emails traffic destined to the manoticktoastmasters.org domain? Is it a domain configuration issue with respect how email traffic is handled and what should show in the nslookup on our domain in terms of a correct email configuration?

I've had a look at the email logs.

I notice that earlier in January, several times outmail.facebook.com managed to get itself onto a spam-blocklist. But I see no signs of that in the last week or so.

Email isn't my strong suit, but to me this looks like the emails are leaving the FTH server and getting tangled up somewhere else. Maybe talk to your email provider?

I just sent about 8 facebook pasword resets. Can you query the email log from 12:05am to 12:15am with today's date (Feb 2).

Ok, got the cause... Your custom domain DNS records are not set up correctly for FTH email.

No MX record and no mail A record... (so no FTH email for custom domain)

You need to have whoever set up the custom domain fix that via the registrar's website. Not something we can do for you.

I see the MX record now, but not the A mail record. (need that also)

I find a A record pointing to 50.19.253.65 on our Netfirms.com control panel. The record is there but not being reported by DNS. Any reason for this?

As for the MX record this is how it is configured:

The pointed to is defined with: mail.manoticktoastmasters.org

Is the host defined correctly (with the @ character)?

Look, the issue is that there needs to be at least two A records and you have one.

The first directs web traffic to our server and the second directs email to the FTH server.

The MX record just defines the name of the mail server... it does not tie it to the FTH server. The A mail record does that tie-in.

I was just finished with tech support through netfirms.com and have been advised that the DNS configuration can take up to 12 hours to reflect in the DNS report. So I will check Friday afternoon to see that the two A records appear in the DNS report.

I was advised that the mail A record has been created. NSLOOKUP on mail.manoticktoastmasters.org resolved to 50.19.253.65. Sent a test message from my personal email account on the rogers.com domain and the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. received the message. Will see if facebook password recovery will work tomorrow. Facebook prevents me from doing so for the next 24 hours.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and pretended I forgot the password. I got the facebook recovery code within 2 minutes. So now I know I can recover the one for the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. on the weekend (after the 24 block set by facebook). Facebook has a security feature when it detects too many password recovery attempts in a short time frame.

Frankly, I would advise that you just use the club number version of the email address... not just here, but for all external references.

Sooner or later your custom domain will expire, and if you forget to renew, your email addresses using it will stop working (not our fault). However, if you use the club number version for external email references, you will not have that issue.
