I have just found out that 6 club members have had their email addresses blacklisted.

Can someone explain how a members registered email address ends up on the blacklist?
I'd like to avoid this happening in the future.

Someone in your club clicked the links that said that email from them were spam.

You can remove the entries from the black list.

You should ask at your club meeting who is click the spam links

Thanks for that.
When I receive emails from the members-9834@ list, they dont have a "This is Spam" link in them.
Is it only on some mail that these links are added?

Or is it in their mail client (outlook etc).
Is there any record of when or who blacklisted them?
Is anyone notified when a members email is blacklisted?

TIA

This likely happened a while ago (like last year) when the "Is this Spam?" links were a fairly new feature... There are checks in place now to prevent members from getting blacklisted via the Is this Spam link. (The From address is checked to see if it is a member's email address.) A member can still be explicitly blacklisted via the admin console.

The only emails that the "Is this Spam?" links are added to are those that are going to publicly accessible email addresses... e.g. officer email addresses, since those are the ones more likely to get spam. When someone clicks the link, an admin message is also generated (viewable upon admin login).

Because emails to the members list or officers list can only come from other members, the links are not added to those.

Lastly, keep in mind that blacklisted email addresses can still *receive* emails (e.g. as part of a list), they just cannot *send* emails.
