Sorry, either I'm being really stupid or haven't explained myself properly. Both are very possible.

What am I scrolling down on?

I'm VPE and want to send an email to the members so I'm sending it via the website emailer by clicking on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

This opens up the email editor and in there I want to add something like:

Hi {{First name}},

Sorry to be a pain.

Thank you.

clicking on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. does not send via the website mailer it uses your email client and there is no substitution. If you want to use substitution you have to use the basic emailer accessed through the members are in the admin console.
