I'm creating a tabbed page with a bunch of instructions for my members on using various parts of the agenda.
ytalkers.toastmastersclubs.org/UpdatingAgenda.html

I created a couple anchors because I want other instructions to go to a specific place if they need to. One links within the tabbed page, but to a different tab, and one is supposed to link from a different page to the fourth tabbed part. Neither work.

Within the page to a different tab, it just sits there doing nothing. From the different page, it goes to the first tab of the correct linked page but not to the anchor -- BUT it goes to the bottom of the screen rather than the top of the screen where you'd see the tabs.

Is this something FTH just doesn't do or is it something that SHOULD work and it needs special coding?

I've just set up a simple test on my club page to link to an anchor on another page. It seems to work
I linked to a URL (where the URL was the target page URL with #AnchorName (where AnchorName is the name I gave the Anchor on that page) It opens with the anchor point at the top of the target page.
I noticed that you had the element ID selected on your same page anchor. That shouldn't matter, but see if you can remove and try again.
I can't get an anchor to open in a tabbed section, possibly because the tabs themselves are similar to anchors.

I removed the Element ID but that wiped out the link to the anchor totally. I tried again to insert the Anchor ID only and it automatically replaced the Element ID. I also tried linking to the URL with the anchor, but that didn't work either. I guess FTH just won't do it.

On the tabbed page, I used just the page url, and it takes it correctly to the top of the first tab, I guess I have to settle for that.

The challenge with tabs is that they use JavaScript for managing the display / hiding of the content in the tabs. A simple anchor click by itself will not toggle the tab display.
