I submitted a Support Request (about two weeks ago), which I cannot find now #81868. The directions were to add the toastmastersclubs.org domain to the Safe Sender on my charter email, which I did and FTH3 will not allow me to add that email address in the Membership Management app. Below Are two other support requests identifying the same problem. I added the two email addresses to the Safe Sender on my charter account settings. I then tried to add my charter email address to the membership Management app and I get an error. Attached is a screenshot of that record and I also included a screenshot of my charter "safe sender" records with the two FTH3 email addresses and the FTH3 domainI spoke to two Charter Tech Support people (on 11/3/2020 and 11/12/2020) and they are insisting that Charter does not have a block on the FTH3 domain. It also seems strange to me to have every member, guest, prospect or anyone added to the membership management app go into their charter account to add emails and domains to their charter email app. It was working up through around October 25th and I 1st noticed a problem on October 29th. I don't think it's a charter problem and if it is how successful will clubs be in not only getting members to "opt-in" but to fiddle with their charter settings?

The only thing I can think of beyond what has already been said here in the forums is that maybe the server has blocked the charter.net IP addresses, since it does come from Spectrum and Spectrum does sometimes send out promotional emails.

Brian: Could you check this possibility?

We too are having this same issue with Charter emails. Now there is another layer to this... the member who only has a Charter email can no longer be added to agendas. They remain shown as an "opt-in" member, and their name shows as an option on the agendas, HOWEVER, the name is not clickable.

I have not made any changes re: email on our end. Therefore, this is something that changed w/ Spectrum Charter email.

As none of us have one of these email accounts, this is a case where we really need your help as FreeToastHost users. Since you have Spectrum email accounts, you will likely have more leverage with them (than us) if you contact them and make an inquiry. Please contact Spectrum and ask them why they are blocking emails from the @toastmastersclubs.org domain. Ask them if there is a way for the domain to be whitelisted.

Keep in mind that we are all volunteers... We rely on our users to be engaged and contribute to the health/viability of FreeToastHost as much as they can.

TY for the update. I do have a question. In the example that I've attached, what in FTH3 would prevent me from adding a member to the Membership Management App with their charter email? What does your application do to determine that This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. is an invalid email?
BTW - I will do whatever I can with Charter to get to the bottom of this. In fact I've spent over in hour on the phone with them on two calls.

When you add a person in Membership Management, the email address is tested by the server code. This is the same email test that you can run manually via the Membership Tools drop-down menu. The server code does this test when you add someone new to ensure that we do not get a bunch of unusable email addresses added to the system.

This approach is part of what are referred to as "email hygiene practices"... basically, preventing bad email addresses from being sent to and removing old email addresses that consistently no longer work from the system. These are required to prevent as many email system providers will block the server if we keep sending emails to addresses that do not work.

For more information on these types of practices, you can Google the term... see the following, for example:
keap.com/business-success-blog/marketing...what-is-list-hygiene

One practice that we do not *yet* do is to make sure we are maintaining "warm email addresses" (e.g. for Guest and Former Member lists)... I will be implementing that at some point.

Thank you very much for the information. Since the solution is for members who are using charter email is to go into their settings and add to safe senders the following: toastmastersclubs.org; This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. How can we test if that solution will work once we add it?

Simple... just send to one of the officer email addresses. The officer in question would have to have a charter email address and they would have to have whitelisted the server.
