Yes. You should not lose any images uploaded to the server. You have to keep in mind that the rich text editor is just a fancy piece of javascript code that is running. We did not create the editor and we can only try to advise users on how to use it without issues, based on our experience. You may not have copied and pasted from MS Word, but maybe your predecessor did. The text class="MsoBodyText" in the above HTML is a clear indicator that some of the content originated from an MS Office program, likely MS Word. In our experience, any kind of complex content that originated from MS Word tends to cause problems when pasted into the editor--sometimes the paste from Word icon works, sometimes it does not.  In most cases we will just strip out HTML content to restore proper functioning. Our role here is not to teach people how to do HTML coding, although read on as I have given you a guess on this below. As far as how to fix this, my suggestion would be to try to insert altered HTML into a Custom Web Page for testing purposes. If it locks the editor, you could just delete the Custom Web Page... something you cannot do with the Home Page. If it works, then click the Source View button in the home page editor and paste the HTML there. As far as what altered HTML to use, I am just making guesses myself. You might try the following below... again just a guess. I know it still has the MsoBodyText stuff in it, but I did delete something else that caught my eye and looked odd.
