Our VPE stopped receiving club emails all of a sudden this afternoon. We need you to add his email address [This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ] back immediately. We are experiencing this for the second time now, and we'd like to know what causes it, and we would like a guarantee that it will never happen again. Looking forward to your reply asap.

Because everyone is sharing the same server, if one user or club causes a problem for the server it can affects its use for everyone else. We can only do the best we can to identify and curb abuse, prevent spamming as much as we can, stop hackers, protect user's private information, etc. -- we can only give our promise that we are doing the best we can with what we have to work with. We really cannot give you any guarantees and frankly, I find it a bit outrageous for you to say that, :pinch: when we are all volunteers here working with open source libraries and maintaining the system in our spare time.

This is an example of why it is so very important to clean out email lists and ensure that only people that want email are being sent email. One problem or incidence of email abuse by any club or user can have a very bad affect on all of us.

If every FTH user took a stand in their respective districts to prevent abusive email practices by other clubs in their districts, that would be a big help to us.

In this case, your email address bounced the email back to our server... we are just making sure you are aware that they bounced the email back to the FTH server.

The error code from their bounce is 554, which is explained on the following page:

Despite relentless efforts by our volunteers to prevent FreeToastHost servers from being blacklisted, it seems that happened for a short time. Steve politely explained how that happens (nothing to do with updates gone wrong, and there was no blame intended for you in his explanation).
Yes, it is frustrating for those caught up in it. Believe me, it is even more frustrating for the volunteers who have to sort it out. In this case it was very quickly sorted out.
It seems though that some service providers haven't been quick to refresh their blacklists, and yours might be one of them.
I've reset Ron's bounce count. If you are still having issues please contact your service provider and ask them why your emails are bouncing with this error message:
Diagnostic Code: 554-perfora.net (mxeueus006) Nemesis ESMTP Service not available
