When we try to hyperlink "National Mad Hatter Day" or "Nat'l Mad Hatter Day" with various links (e.g., nationaltoday.com/national-mad-hatter-day, nationaldaycalendar.com/national-mad-hatter-day-october-6) where either the color is a different blue than the others even though the source code shows it's the same (#0000ff) or the text appears blue, but isn't hyperlinked at all even though the preview shows the hyperlink. Hyperlinking www.cute-calendar.com/event/mad-hatter-day/38818.html worked properly for a test email to one guest, but then it suddenly added an exclamation point amidst the hyperlink, which is a common and recurring error that I doesn't appear in the source code. Any ideas to troubleshoot this to look professional without these anomalies that are inserted after a normal preview to appear unexpected?

The email templates are for 9/13: VPPR email to prospects and 9/14: VPM email to guests. Can you help troubleshoot how to make the hyperlinks work and appear consistently or are the sites selected somehow affecting the color and ability to hyperlink?

The link color will be different depending on whether they were previously clicked, whether you are hovering, etc. etc. They also may vary depending on which website you are viewing them on. Even if I attempt to style links in email, there really is no guarantee that the styling will be honored by any particular email agent... it is one of the limitations of HTML email.

Also, you should make sure that any link referencing a folder off of a domain ends in a "/"... that is the way to ensure they work when not including a document name. Not every website will honor dropping off the "/", since some websites may treat the URL (w/o the final slash) as a document name unless you include the final "/". If you look at where you end up with the first two links you provided, you can see that those websites do honor dropping the "/"... they append it on for you... not every website will do that.

The varying color isn't due to whether the link was clicked or not since all the links weren't clicked and yet appear different colors in the same email even though they have the same color (#0000ff) in the source code. Thus, it seems if an email agent would at least be consistent in applying the same color to all its links unless there is a bug.

I tried to remove the "/" at the end of the URL, which didn't help make the hyperlinks appear. It seems that FTH prefers links that end in .html to hyperlink, but randomly adds an exclamation point amidst the hyperlinked text that I don't see in the previews.

Speaking of which, where is the global setting to specify all hyperlinks be of a certain color? We're manually selecting #0000ff because the default blue hyperlink is too light to see (based on feedback from members).

Default link colors are defined to be per the theme color. You do not get to set those, you can only override them via inline CSS.

I believe the exclamation mark issue with html emails should be resolved now.
