Hi there!
Sorry if I missed this anywhere: will the drop-down menu for Speakers be edited to reflect the updates to the pathways program (ie. change to the Research and Presenting Project)? Will we be able to edit these ourselves?

Thanks,
Cathy

We are not always updated promptly on these changes, so thanks for bringing this to our attention.  Is there a doc somewhere summarizing the changes? (We will need to update the info in the drop-down.)

I don't think the updates are active yet - they are due to be implemented this quarter.

Research and Present will become a L3 elective but will still be available on L1 for current paths

L1 will get some two new projects:
Writing a Speech with Purpose
Introduction to Vocal Variety and Body Language

Here is what is on the TI website:

Quarter 4, 2021—New Level 1 Projects
Two new projects will be added to the Ice Breaker and Evaluation and Feedback to make up an all-new Level 1 in Pathways. Writing a Speech with Purpose and Introduction to Vocal Variety and Body Language will help teach new members basic public speaking skills right away and set them up for success on their Toastmasters journey. The Researching and Presenting project will become an elective in Level 3. Please note that these changes will only be in English for the time being and will only be available in paths assigned after the launch of the new projects. Paths in progress or already completed will continue with the previous Level 1 projects.

They have not announced the availability in Pathways and they are not changing paths in progress. Going to be a cluster F.

Paths in progress or already completed will continue with the previous Level 1 projects.

Adding the new projects for our users to select will be pretty straightforward when this goes live.  However, the trickier bit will be the "Researching and Presenting" project since we will need to maintain information for the Level 1 version as well as the not yet released Level 3 version.  We will have two different versions in our db which we will need to maintain for reporting purposes, but we will need to hide one of those at some point in the selection drop-down so it does not accidently get picked.  We have not done that "hidden" sort of thing to date for the project drop-down ... what is in the drop-down is what is in the reports.  We will need to add a new attribute to the project drop-down data (& accompanying filtering in the javascript) for marking obsolete items.
