Hello SMEs,

I am VPE & Club Admin for Premier Toastmasters Club at Chicago using FTH for my club web site. (Club URL: premiertoastmasters.org/), and Club number is 918568.

I am aware that the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (and the other aliases listed in "Club Email Addresses") are driven by what is maintained at the club web site thru "Membership Management" tool.

Typically in most clubs, adding a new member is a 2 step process.
      (1) First, after a new member has paid, he/she gets added to the club central site
      (2) Next, that new member is added to the club web site by club web admin.

Thus I was curious whether there is a club-members email alias that is built strictly off of what is entered at Club Central (irrespective of whether the new member is added at club web site)?  Thinking pro-actively, I am trying to prevent situation where for ours/other clubs, if the 2nd step (Club admin adding new member to club web site) is accidentally missed/delayed, club officers can still have an accurate & up-to-date club-members email alias, built off of entries of paid members in Club central - that  they can use for communications with members.

Thanks,
Mayur Shah.

We are blocked from member information in WHQ's member database.  Thus, there is no data connection between the two databases.   This is why you have to essentially enter the member information twice.

Hi Steve,
Thanks but that does not answer my question. I am ok with us entering information twice, but I am questioning our dependency of members distribution list ONLY thru Step 2. As part of step 1, WHQ already has the member information of paid new members. They do NOT need to import member information from step 2 of our FTH database.
What I am asking is why don't we utilize step 1 information of member's emails from WHQ database to generate club member's email distribution list
(A) EITHER by asking WHQ to create a members email alias for us to use
(B) OR by asking WHQ to push (not pull) the member's email distribution list to FTH as simple as a comma delimited list?
Our current process relying ONLY on STEP 2 to generate member's email distribution list, has the risk/delay of paid members not getting added in time thru membership management.

Thanks,
Mayur Shah.

I have already told you that WHQ will not do what you are asking.  We are not new to this.  We have been working with this system and communicating with WHQ for many years.

I can understand it could be frustrating to explain something twice since you know these things inside/out.
I never questioned your experience dealing with WHQ. :)
Since it was not clear to me from your first response, I had to add specifics clarifying my question again. Appreciate your time/feedback.
