If you create a folder that is Members Only, but add a link to a Public File, then the folder is also a Public Folder.

So, make sure that if the intention is that the contents be for club use only, that all documents are locked.

"but add a link to a Public File, "

I am confused about what you are suggesting...

Add a link where? In the Members Only folder? Also, how would the file be a Public File if it is in a Members Only folder?

Steve,

I created a folder that I saved as a Members Only folder.

I uploaded a document, but forgot to make it a Members Only document.

I added the link in the folder to the document.

Results: The Members Only folder was listed in both Main Menu and Members Only, until I changed the document to Members Only.

You can add it to the File Manager.

If you want the link in the Main Menu to go directly to the file follow these steps...

1. log in and open the ADMIN CONSOLE.
2. Select FILE MANGER and upload your file. Rename if you want it to be in a virtual folder.
3. If you want this to be in the MAIN MENU, you will need to make this download PUBLIC by clicking on the lock icon on the right.
4. Click on SAVE.
5. Click on CLOSE.
6. CLOSE the Administration Panel.
7. Click on Public Downloads (or Member Downloads).
8. Click on the file that you want to link to.
9. Select and copy the DIRECT URL in the FILE DOWNLOAD box.
10. Click on CANCEL.
11. LAUNCH ADMIN CONSOLE again.
12. Select CUSTOM WEB PAGES
13. Paste the DIRECT URL in the YOUR WEB PAGE CONTENT / OR LINK URL
14. Type the link as you want it to appear in the MAIN MENU in the WEB PAGE TITLE / OR LINK TITLE box.
15. Select MEMBER ONLY or PUBLIC ACCESS as needed.
16. Click on SAVE.

You can see an example of this on our club web site at www.dunedintoastmasters.com. Click on FEATURES, BENEFITS AND VALUES in the main menu.
