You can use a custom icon for a social media link or one you got from the web. Note that in most cases, we have a bunch of icons already on our server for social networking websites. However, if you want to use one we do not have or use one a bit different than what we have, read on...

Here is how to save a custom icon for a social networking website to your image uploads folder (on the server) and then use it as an icon for a social media link:

1. Retrieve the icon file and save it on your computer if it is not already there. Make sure you can locate it on your computer. Also, make a note of the filename.

2. Load the admin console of your website and select the Home Page tab.

3. Click at the top of your home page content in the home page editor.

4. Click the image icon on the editor toolbar to load the image dialog.

5. Click the uploads tab of the image dialog.

6. Click the Browse button to find your icon file and select it to upload the file to your club's imageuploads folder.

7. Once the upload is completed, cancel out of the dialog. Do not select the icon to insert it in your home page content.

8. Select the Social Links tab.

9. Scroll down to the Other Social Networking Websites box.

10, Type in the destination URL that someone will be directed to when they click the icon, then type a comma, then type the URL of the icon by using the following format for the URL:

/imageuploads/######/filename.ext
Replace ###### above with your club (or district) number and replace filename.ext above with the icon filename that you noted above.

NOTE: You may be able to use a link to an icon that has been uploaded via the file manager. However, that is not guaranteed to work in the future. Lastly, the method I describe above should result in your website loading a little bit faster, also.
