Okey dokey.

Here is what I like about your website:

1. The photo slideshow.

2. You have the location linked to google maps on your home page. B)

3. You have a nice variety of text.

4. "Our club is the home of the Division D Governor and Area 41 Governor as well as three Past District Governors. " Very nice.

5. "2014-15 Speak E-Z Educational Achievements" Very nice.

6. You have a google map

7. You have phone number(s) in Contact Us

8. All officers are listed on Meet Our Members page, and all but one have photos and bios.

9. How to log in video. B)

10. Good use of color.

What I think can be improved: (just my opinion... others may feel differently)

11. Some of the photos in the slide show are dark (bad lighting) and other seem to be duplicates. I would suggest being selective about what photos you include in a slide show.

12. Set the Advisory Titles for links on the Advanced tab of the edit link dialog in the editor. That is what creates the pop up help tip balloons. For example, for your link that goes to Google Maps on your home page, you could have the link show a pop-up "Click for Google Map" when a person hovers the mouse over the link. This makes it clearer what the link is for. (Also similarly for the "join us" link.)

13. I am kind of on the fence about the YouTube video on your home page. Videos are kind of cool and all, but you have to look at how they fit into the over all page content and how likely it would be that someone would watch the entire video. Your slide show already gives a sense of the "Club Experience" to some degree. However, for people that like to watch a full video, they will appreciate it.

14. Meeting Info / Directions Page - the annotated photo on that page seems out of place to me. An exterior photo of your meeting venue would be helpful for first time meeting visitors to find your meeting. Your Google Maps embed does not have a link to get directions.

15. You could maybe use a couple more supporting pages. Some examples: FAQs, Club Founders Page (photo, bio and why they started the club), awards page, events page, meeting roles, word of the day, etc.

Overall, I like it a lot. I think you are doing some good things that will create a positive first impression. Keep it up!

In order to continue to have this forum section be useful into the future, we need to request that everyone contribute to it.

Therefore, we are implementing "Get an evaluation, give an evaluation." . Basically, we are requesting those who have received a website evaluation give a Toastmasters style website evaluation for at least one other club that has requested an evaluation in this forum section. (You get to choose which club website to do the website evaluation for.) Just post your impressions: things you like about the website, and areas for improvement. Everyone has something to offer... just trust your instincts. :)

Hi RD!

I'm really struck by the rich colors you and Steve use as background on your sites! I would not have tried something that bold, but now I may play around.

You have a lot of original content, do you really NEED the "flying accordions" at the bottom? (NO!)

I liked the slide show!

I LOVE your facebook! There are a lot of great graphics there. Many of which, I STOLE :woohoo: for our own facebook, hope you don't mind. But... I didn't see any links to your WEBSITE there. Facebook can be a wonderful tool to use as a funnel to your site. You may have some, and I just missed them. I'm sure you have a Twitter in the works.

Aesthetically, I like the yellow you use for your members menu. You may want to continue that all along the left side. I understand you are trying to establish a distinction between the member and main, but a visitor will figure it out.

"Membership" page... straight and to the point, yet very powerful.

"How to login"... yes, another great idea I may steal! Keep at it.

Thank you for the feedback, Blaine.

The accordion flyouts I have a mixed feeling about. Originally, one could not get ride of them. Now we can. In my mind, until we develop a club tour/what to expect/etc., I am leaving them to provide a prospective member some idea as to what goes on.

On our FB page, the link is the About section. We also add the link to many of those graphics we have posted.

No Twitter in the works presently.

Thanks for looking!

I, too, like the slide show. However, it is a bit long (how many will go through the whole thing) and shows too many of the same people. I think it would be more effective to show others in action (maybe one of each member...). I did note that this were all pics from the same meeting--do you update this every week? If so, wow! That takes a bit of time.

The list of achievements at the bottom of the home page means something to Toastmasters, but not to the visitor. Not sure if this would be an attraction to a guest. (Though it does impress me so many are completing awards.)

Like your description (home page) about your club. May I suggest that you put the last paragraph first--I think it will encourage the guest to continue reading. It is a good lead in statement.

Linda, thank you for the feedback. I just scaled back the number of photographs in the slide show. Yes, we update this after each week (twice a month).

The educational awards I think demonstrate we are an active club earning awards. While a prospective member may not understand the TM lingo, it shows that things are happening in the club.

I've switched the paragraphs.

Thanks!

I appreciate the feedback.

I noticed that Steve told you he liked the Slideshow, I looked for it in your Website but I can't see it. Is it just me or you not longer have it?
I am trying to publish a slide show with Flickrit, but I am having a lot of problems. I can't make it work.

About your Website, maybe you should let the public know if you meet every week or not, the reason is because, I belong to 2 clubs, we only meet once a month in one of them! Aida.

Thanks for the feedback.

There is no slide show presently. Normally there is, but the last event was our area contest. I did not take photographs during the event; there is only the "winners" photograph afterwards.

We meet this evening. There should be a slide show up late tonight or tomorrow with photographs from tonight's meeting.

Under Meeting Information / Directions it is mentioned that we meet the first and third Thursday of the month. It is also mentioned on the homepage in the guest area.

Thank you for looking. :)
