EDIT: Note that I have changed the name of this feature to better reflect what its intended purpose is for. Sorry for any confusion.

Since it seems like security is the "thing" now, I am releasing a new email security feature that I came up with to allow you to visibly verify that emails have actually been sent via FreeToastHost on the behalf of your club/district. Generally speaking, one way to try to address this is to require that emails sent to you contain a word, phrase, image or similar known only to you. This works best if the text or image is changed regularly (like for passwords). This is an added basic email authentication approach--while not perfect (hackers are clever), it does provide an extra measure of email security.

In line with this, I have implemented a new feature to support entering an "Anti-Spoofing Phrase" of up to 250 characters into your website to be used in emails send through FreeToastHost. If entered, this phrase would be put at the bottom of emails in a nondescript way (not obvious to hackers what it is for) and would give your club members a way to verify the email as actually being sent via FreeToastHost. Take a look at the following:

Here is an example of what gets inserted--note that it is intentionally nondescript:

(yes, my sense of humor gets a little wacky when I am tired  )

If you use this, keep in mind that the intention is that this phrase is included in *all* emails through FreeToastHost for your club/district (as much as possible), so this includes emails to non-members. Keep this in mind when coming up with a phrase to use.

Make sure you inform your club members when changing the phrase...

I think I got every system email I can think of covered... if anyone finds one that this is missing in one, let me know. (Some emails like those for setting up a new website cannot use this, because the phrase cannot be known until the website is set up.)

Just to clarify:

Members don't need to actually do anything. They just need to know why the phrase is there. Correct?

Correct... if it is used. Of course, using this is optional (but recommended).
