It is time to document a feature that has been undocumented for about 9 months or so.

Up until now, we have been telling you that if you did not have a custom domain, you had to use your club number when sending email to FTH email addresses and distribution lists.

Well, this has sort of been a bit of a fib for the last 9 months or so... (sorry) I wanted to make sure that this new approach worked ok before I released it into the wilds... It works fine. (I have been using it myself.)

If you have set a website alias, then you *can* use your website alias as an alternate for your club number in email addresses.

BUT, there is a catch. I switched the order of the list name and the alias from what you have been used to. So, here is how this works.

If your website alias is "bestclub", then to send your members address, you could use
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

For your officers, you could use:
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I switched the order like this, because I think it reads better if the website alias is first... makes it easier to remember. ;)

But wait! There is one more thing. I defined the "default list" to be members for clubs and leaders for districts. This means that if you send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., it will assume that you meant to go to the members list which is the default.

NOTE: The existing email addresses with the club numbers still work the same... No need to worry. :)

Can you give us a configuration option in email settings to choose which format shows on the club email addresses page?

So interesting!

Quick question. You write, " But wait! There is one more thing. I defined the "default list" to be members for clubs and leaders for districts. This means that if you send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., it will assume that you meant to go to the members list which is the default."

Does that also mean, if I am using the direct FTH site, I can email to just my club number and it defaults to MEMBERS?

That would be cool!

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO... for FTH and Toastmasters Clubs around the world.
THANK YOU!
