Recognition and points

Recognition and points

The Recognition and Points system is a way to show who are the most active members, and hopefully to encourage increased activity from the others as well.

It can be used in implementing the TI award of Outstanding Toastmaster or Toastmaster of the Year in your club.

This is what a member sees (a fairly new one, in this case):

Report card and leader board

It's up to your Exec committee whether they wish to use this or not. Check with them before enabling anything, which is done in the Recognition and Points area of the admin console.

Recognition and Points settings

The "Display the points" system may be turned on or off, by adding or removing a tick in the checkbox (circled). Note that this only affects the display in members' dashboards. It doesn't disable the whole system, which still keeps working in the background.

The default points assigned  to the various roles make a good starting point, but they can be changed if desired. Unless you have definite reasons to change them, it's probably best to leave them as they are.

Agendas need to be reconciled before they are counted in the points total.

For the points to be accurate and up to date, the Agendas should be reconciled by the VP Ed after every meeting.

Pathways badges is a separate item, which determines whether or not badges will be shown on agendas and elsewhere. It doesn't affect the Points system.

Important:

Any report or notification on the FTH site is for information and encouragement only. The true record is the one on the TI website. Please make sure it's updated after every speech.
