New member email - "Authentication Link Omitted"

Good morning,

We are a newly-forming club and are just trying to set up our website. I'm the administrator, and have had no problem setting up portions of our site when logged in as the administrator. However, when I try to login as a "member" for the first time (and request to "Authenticate" my membership), I received the automatically generated email and it was missing the necessary authentication link. Therefore, I've not been able to authenticate my membership and access those portions of the site. I understand that other members of our club may be having this same problem.

Here's the text of the email I received:

Click on the link below to access your club website as a member. The site will remember you for as long as you are using the same computer/device and do not clear your cookies. If you wish to access from another computer or device, just reauthenticate, or set a custom password by clicking the link below.

(Authentication Link Omitted)

Note: if the above URL is wrapping in your e-mail and not fully linked, you can copy and paste the URL (without the <>) in your web browser's address bar.

Thanks for your help.

OK, clarification. It appears that what I'm receiving is actually the copy of the email that's supposed to be sent to the member - because I'm the administrator, I receive a copy of the authentication links that go out to the members (where the link itself is omitted).

However, I still have not received my "member" email with the actual authentication link in it. Please advise.

Thanks,
Deb

I can see emails to you being accepted by your institution's mail server.

Please check your spam or junk folder to make sure that they aren't ending up there. (It happens quite frequently.)

If that's not the problem, you may need to talk to your IT people to find out what is happening to the incoming emails.

I know it is not in my spam/junk folder, as I have checked that. I'm receiving the admin emails, so it seems odd to me that I wouldn't also receive the "member" email.

I will try to send the email to a couple of my other email addresses and see how that goes. Thanks for your reply.

You may need to set @toastmastersclubs.org as a "safe sender". Keep in mind that a key difference between the admin copy of this email and the member copy is that the member copy has a link in it that may make it score higher for spam filters. We cannot omit the link from the actual member email, though.

OK, yes. That makes a lot of sense. I will confirm with our IT department that this is included on the "safe" senders list.

Thanks again!
