Site admin for new club can't sign on as member (Club 4564783)
I have signed in as an admin to set up pages. Then I sign out to test from a visitor's point of view.
As an administrator, I sent the New Member email to myself, to set up a separate password. This was so I could test signing up using the agenda tool.
I did receive the email to the admin. notifying me that the email was sent to the new member.
I also received the new member email, as expected.
However, after following the link and instructions in the new member email, the site does not send me back a new password. I have tried several times.
I generally use Google Chrome Version 41.0.2272.118 m
I also use Internet Explorer v.8 (which is outdated, but all I am allowed, at work.)
I checked my spam folders and still cannot find the email sent from the system with a password.
Note that I am also a member of Sawgrass Toastmasters (Club# 590751).
For Sawgrass, I use my personal email.
For Toastmasters of TBC, I use my work email: cfield@tbccorp.com
Please advise.
Thanks, Chuck

Hello Chuck;
It won't send you an email stating your password.... You make one up yourself just like the admin password... You make the password anything you want. You can make the admin password anything you want.
Remember both of them or start over and make up a new one that you can remember.
Linda
Please advise.
Thanks, Chuck

Question: Does the member authentication email (with a link to create a password) go directly to the email entered on the form, or to the one entered into the site's membership database?
I've tried the authentication process several times using two different emails when initially logging in to authenticate.
My work email is the email of record in the membership database for this club's website.
I tried the Authentication button after entering my work email. I received the administrator email (to my personal account) indicating that the request had been made. I did not receive an email in my work mailbox, with a link to log me in and create a password. I checked my spam and deleted mail folders. It is not there.
I repeated the process using my personal email in the form, before clicking the Authentication button. Again, I received the administrator email indicating that the request had been made. I did not receive an email with a link to log me in and create a password.
I have sent the New Member email to another member, who will test to see if she can gain access using this process.
However, if I understand it, I should be receiving the email with a link that logs me in and allows me to set a password. That is the email I am not receiving.
I apologize for my inaccurate description of the problem.
I have no issues with my administration activities.
New Member emails seem to be reaching recipients appropriately.
It's the authentication email (with a link that logs me in and allows me to set a password) that never arrives.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Chuck
