The "this is NOT a member role" still displays the name pick list field

Trish,

I moved this to Support Requests from Improvement Suggestions.

Can you provide a specific role that is a problem?

I'm attaching a screen shot of a portion of the agenda while it's in edit mode. You will see that the *Presiding Officer* Closing Comments correctly suppresses the name picker field, but oddly enough we do not have a *Presiding Officer* role - so I can't explain the asterisk. You can also see the Meeting Adjourns and Topics Speaker #1 and Topics Speaker #2 roles do not carry the person/member icon to the right, but all will accept a member selection if one is chosen from the list. If we don't want an agenda entry to be member filled, the name picker field should be suppressed.

This is as designed and will not be changed. This is not a bug.

The reason is that this allows roles that are not sign up roles to be pre-filled for convenience... Example, SAA other officer roles on the agenda.

The fact that the drop down shows on the edit form has nothing to do with the setting. The setting controls whether the sign-up button shows on the sign-up (view) screen.

Trish,

Thanks for the screen shot. This is the agenda editor, not a typical member view. Only the Administrator, VP-ED or Toastmaster of the Meeting have access to that screen.

This allows those members to assign roles.

Ok, I understand that it's not a bug (and why I chose the category "Improvement Suggestions" in my original post - duh!!!!), and your response completely ignores the user confusion issue your lovely design is creating.

Not every member in the club is going to have a technical background or the knowledge base of an FTH administrator. If you're going to create a design that opens up the functionality to the average member, then the design must also be user-friendly for the non-technical user. As an FTH Admin, I was simply asking for your help in preventing these types of recurring user errors which unnecessarily consume my time repairing/recovering from them.

I've seen other posts referencing your insensitivity to the average member. How sad it's again proven to be true.

Trish,

I apologize for moving the post, I can easily move it back.

We do have a document that the admin, VP-Ed and Toastmaster of the Meeting can refer to if that will make your life easier. It can be found at this link: support.toastmastersclubs.org/component/...em/editing-an-agenda
