EDIT! Okay, I came back and revisited your comment and compared it to our settings. I thought that the member notifications box was not tied to any selections above; however, I see now that was incorrect. We changed the number of meetings to 12 - they were all set to 1 before because we didn't want anyone flooded with notifications - and now that I've done that it appears the auto notifications to the member assigned to a role is now working.
Thank you! Solved! For future: you might want to explain this better on the site or in the "how to" documentation how these settings interact.

This is the part that is not working. All other notifications in the"Notify following people... " are working. What is NOT working are the member notifications when they are assigned a role in the future. We want to assign roles for next month for instance, and the member never receives a notice.
