Where are the text boxes? I didn't see an icon for one on the dashboard. Perhaps I overlooked a drop down box or something. Are there no text boxes to prevent my pictures from jumping all over the place when I update the site? If not, how does one write new copy or updates and keep everything in line?

Please provide your club number with every post so we can see what is going on. Simplest is to just put it in your forum signature--see mine for how to do that.

Next, please review our docs. support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc

Finally, please be specific in your post. What are you talking about?

Hi Steve,

How do I type original text, so our website doesn't look like everyone else's?

The link is support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc (no "s" on the end).

The link about adding and editing content (in that page) should give you some guidance.

Thank you, both.

When I uploaded a picture, the alignment would shift (the picture moved) when I added text. I am use to "text boxes", like in Word, holding everything in place. Apparently, there just are no text boxes. It was a bit tricky, but I managed to get everything on the page in a decent manner.

Thank you again,
Blaine

HTML is not MS Word.

You need to either set the horizontal alignment of the image (in the image dialog) which causes the text to wrap around the image or if you do not set an alignment, the image will float like text. If you want to center the image, do not set a horizontal alignment in the dialog... just use the text centering tool.

Steve,

I see that, and thank you for the advice. I'm simply use to building websites which utilizes the text boxes to nail everything down...

magicmentalist.webstarts.com/contact.html

The important thing is I was able to get enough uploads and text on the club's home page, so we won't look like everyone else.

Thanks again,
Blaine

Ok, it looks like you are off to a good start. You can also use tables for more advanced page layouts. You can put images and/or text in the cells of tables for example.

Since it looks like you have what you need, I am closing out this thread.
