As I understand it, at present FTH allows for the VPE, TMOD, and president (?) to, at a given agenda, click on the pencil button to edit the agenda.  Does it make sense to be able to enable other people to have this ability?

Brian,
From the screen shot you provided, it looks like you're suggesting that one selects the "Select Officer(s) Allowed to Access Email & Contact Forms" area.  I assume this is incorrect.  I did today provide the club secretary access to "Select Officer(s) Allowed to Access Agenda Settings & Templates," but this did not afford him the access to edit an existing agenda to assign roles to certain people.  Please clarify, as it looks like FTH only allows TMOD, et al, to edit an *existing* agenda.  I do see where a particular role on the agenda may be granted edit privilege (for that meeting), but that is different.

The Access settings in the Website Settings module essentially establishes what officer roles are the "superusers" for the dated agendas at the bottom of the "Access Settings" tab... they can create, edit and delete dated agendas.  This a bit different (& more) than just edit rights--that is why it says "Create" agendas in the Access Settings.  We will not be expanding the number of officer roles (three) for the Access Settings... we want to limit the number of "superusers" on purpose.

You can set up *any* role in an agenda to enable a person assigned to that role to be able to edit the agenda *for which they are assigned*.  There is a role setting (checkbox) for that.  I added that a while back since different clubs call roles different things and some clubs want the General Evaluator to be able to also edit the agenda (for example).  This feature is intended to provide clubs flexibility without creating a whole bunch more "superusers" for the dated agendas.

Forgive me, gentlemen, if I appear to be beating a dead horse, but I truly believe there is an issue here that needs resolution.  First, let me advise that I am writing as a member/officer of In-Person Toastmasters, #3474192, though this is extremely unlikely to be a club-specific matter.  What I want is for a given officer to be able to log in, go to an existing agenda, and click on the pencil button to edit that agenda to assign roles for which people signed up in person at the previous meeting.

Steve wrote: 'The Access settings in the Website Settings module essentially establishes what officer roles are the "superusers" for the dated agendas at the bottom of the "Access Settings" tab.'  I admit to not understanding, let alone finding, "dated agendas at the bottom of the 'Access Settings' tab."

He also wrote, '[T]hey can create, edit and delete dated agendas.  This a bit different (& more) than just edit rights--that is why it says "Create" agendas in the Access Settings.'  I again confess a lack of understanding with respect to 'dated agendas' and the ability to create/edit/delete them.  When, on that Access Settings panel, I find "Select Officer(s) Allowed to Create/Edit New Agendas" am I getting confused because to me "Create New Agendas" makes sense but "Edit New Agendas" does not.  How does one edit something not yet created?  Is this whole thing a semantics issue?  Can an assigned officer be allowed to edit an existing agenda, a privilege now apparently available only to the TMOD and admin?

To me a dated agenda would be one already in existence.  Right?  And my desire is to allow the club secretary to edit one of those extant agendas.

The documentation (thanks, Brian), reads, in relevant part: "You can allow up to three officers to create new agendas and edit current ones [emphasis added], in addition to the site admin. The Toastmaster of the current meeting, or other designated role-holder, has editing rights but cannot create new agendas."  Unless I'm mistaken, this ability to edit current ones is not working properly.  My secretary did have access at the previous meeting, but it's because someone went in and, per the documentation, gave him role-specific edit access as the General Evaluator.

When we talk about dated agendas we are intentionally drawing a distinction from agenda templates (people get those confused).  The two have two different access settings.

I hope you find this solution humorous (I'm simply relieved).  I was granting the secretary access but it turns out that Don is the VPM.  Whoopsie!  It works find.  As Gilda Radner used to say on SNL, "Never mind!"  Thanks for the agenda clarification, though.
