Hi
I've just taken over as admin for the website and last week we noticed that the URL is no longer working as it used to and takes me to www.toastmastersclubs.org/welcome/?z22I TM Request a Website page. I have found that by removing the www, the site is available and I can edit it accordingly. maccabitoastmasters.org,au

However, the link from the Find a club is broken as it would have been to the www. url.
Club number:613630
Club name: Maccabi Toastmasters

I am not sure if this happened around the same time as the upgrade from 2 to 3 but nevertheless, can you please advise me on how to fix the URL and broken link.

thanks

Michelle Golding

It looks to me that it is a http: link ... when I do a copy link address from the right click menu, I see that.
Everything has to be https: now because of the GDPR / privacy regs. We shut off http: support in May.

We put out plenty of messages about that change. I would strongly advise you to log in at least once a month as the admin so that you are getting new notification messages posted (usually from me) when you log in.

Take a look at the following to update your url.
support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/u...s-international-site

Hi Steve
I just logged into the International site but it doesn't give me the option to get to the club site, it's just my personal profile.

I then tried logging in as the club number but that doesn't work.

How should I be logging in and then access the screen to change the club info?

Also, I tried typing https as part of the URL but it still doesn't take me to the right page.

Like I said, I only took over as admin a few weeks ago and have no prior experience with the admin side of the website and therefore no knowledge of previous communications.

thanks

Michelle

That is fine.

In any case, you should change the http: to https: in the Find a Club info. You will need to log in on the TI website ( www.toastmasters.org ) as a member (if you do not yet have a login there, register for one), then locate the Leadership Central > Club Central link ... go there, find your meeting info as indicated in the doc.

Also, you will need to clear your browser cache to clear out the redirects. (Browsers cache those.) If you do not know how to do that, look in our docs for that. Our expectation is that you get familiar with our terms of use and our online docs. (If there is something missing, confusing, or in error w/ our docs, we request that you tell us that so that we can make the needed changes.)

You should find that www.maccabitoastmasters.org.au/?random23244 works... just clear your cache so you do not need the random # stuff I put here (it just forces the cache to get ignored)

Thanks Steve

I can see Club Central but don't seem to have access to it (it's greyed out).

I have already been approved as the new admin for the club website so not sure why I can't access the Club Central from the TI site.

That is unfortunate :S

Only club officers as recognized by TI WHQ can access Club Central. As FreeToastHost is separate from (but aligned with) the TI website, being an admin for the website does not qualify as a club officer as defined by TI. (If you were also the club VPPR, that *is* an officer role that TI recognizes.) The website admin is essentially a necessary, but made up role (made up by us), for the purposes of having a single point of contact overseeing each club's website operations. Some clubs will designate the admin as an "Other Officer" in their website, but that does not make them an officer as recognized by TI WHQ.

You will need to have one of your club officers log in and update the URL.

For future reference, keep in mind that FreeToastHost is a club member produced and supported system. We are all club members here and volunteers, not employees of TI. TI WHQ has never produced any kind of system themselves for clubs to use for websites... that is why FreeToastHost came in to being.
