Dear Support Team,

Searching via Edge & Chrome, Duckduckgo & Google …. "Palm Beach Currumbin Toastmasters" finds, amongst other links, www.palmbeachcurrumbin.toastmasterclubs.org - clicking on link results in "This site is not secure. The hostname in website's security certificate differs from the website you are trying to visit DLG_FLAGS_SEC_CERT_CN_INVALID".

Other links found e.g. advertisement on other sites display as palmbeachcurrumbin.toastmastersclubs.org/ and allows successful navigation to our FTH website palmbeachcurrumbin.toastmastersclubs.org/

The alias on our FTH site is palmbeachcurrumbin - we do not use a custom domain. Club name is Palm Beach-Currumbin. I've tried changing alias to include hypen, but this didn't work.

I've searched FTH history and all responses on similar error previously resolved for others, but have not been able to resolve our issue. Whilst we currently work around, do need to know that anyone searching and selecting link to our site is pointed to the correct URL and does not receive invalid certificate error.

I'd appreciate any assistance or feedback to help resolve issue.

kind regards,
Dianne

www is not really supported when using the toastmastersclubs.org domain with an alias.

It is not really proper syntax when using a subdomain like we do with the toastmastersclubs.org domain.

It is not a bug... it is incorrect syntax.

Thank-you for your reply Steve. Web search "Palm Beach Currumbin Toastmasters" finds invalid URL - I've attached document to illustrate results of search. I do not know how search engine gets / finds the URL that includes "www" - FTH alias is palmbeachcurrumbin

I understand the syntax is invalid with www prefix. Have I missed some administrator setting that manages how our website is published to the internet? Can you suggest anything else I can check?
Kind regards
Dianne

So your attachments are not coming through. Try a screen snip... those always work.

You may have an old URL in the wilds that Google is picking up. Your best bet is to get familiar with webmaster tools for Google and Bing.... You can request an immediate rescan / reindex w/ those ... that might fix it for you. Over time, it will likely work itself out once the caching expires out the old data and brings in the new.

Hi Steve,

A quick note to let you know that Google reindex and recrawl URL has resolved "invalid www URL published issue" - when use google search. If use Duckduckgo search it's still an issue so I am following up with their support team.

Thank-you for your patience and feedback. I appreciate your assistance and pointing me in the right direction to eliminate "site is not secure, invalid certificate" errors.
Kind regards
Dianne

We do not support www for the toastmastersclubs.org website addresses.

We have no control over when any search engine scans your website. If you want to change something on a search engine contact that search engine.

PS: I have never heard of "Duckduckgo" I would suggest you use a more main stream search engine.

Ok, thanks. Glad you were able to make use of the Google webmaster tools to request a website re-scan. As Brian notes, we are not familiar w/ Duckduckgo, so you are on your own with that. I did a quick Google on it, but it looks like they do not have an equivalent to webmaster tools.

You should look around in your website and other websites that reference your site to make sure there are not any more links containing the "www.".
