I saw if a previous reply that the club FTH sites are automatically updated to the newest version. But our club still has the old version. I need step by step instructions as to how to get the newest FTH for my club. Thank you for your help.

1) without your club number we can't see what you are seeing.

2) There is only 1 active version of FTH at any time so you have to be on the latest release.

My club # is 3647, and I belong to another club # 6729811. My club 3647 is an old club about 45 yrs. old and we have a very old version of FTH - in fact we rarely ever use it and I would like to start using it. My 2nd club is a new club and they have a completely different superior FTH website. The difference is very obvious. That's why I am reaching out for help to update our very old site. Thank you again for all your help.

this is your FTH website 3647.toastmastersclubs.org/

There is only ONE (1) current version of FTH at any time and your club is on the most current version.

You club has chosen to turn off many of the features.
You need to read the documentation on how to use your FTH website.

I am the system developer. I maintain the system code that runs the system. I can assure you that there is only one version of the code that is running.

I looked at the two websites. The only real differences are that one of the websites has a lot more data in it and the two websites are configured differently.

I think what you are maybe missing is how flexible FreeToastHost is. You can tweak the configuration settings and add custom web pages to the point where it looks like two FTH websites must be using different code... not so!

In the older website in this case, you probably just need to go into the admin console and delete out old data and html. I would suggest using the config settings to update the look a bit, also.

Reading everything sounds daunting, can you point me to the right spot to get started? How do I find the "How to use your FTH" info? Can you add any additional comments as to what to turn back on?

I don't know how to do any of that, I am just trying to help the club out and start using FTH, but it sounds very complicated. Maybe that's why so many Toastmasters have always said to stay away from FTH. It sounds like it may be easier to delete the existing site and just start a brand new one like my 2nd club did.

Take it one step at a time, it is actually very simple to use.
Find one thing you want to change and look it up in the documentation.

Yes I agree going one step at a time is the way to go, and I am stuck on step 1. I want to update our site, and don't know what to type in the search bar. I can't find anything to help me update the site, turn on whatever you said was turned off. I watched the Video nothing refers to what I want to first achieve. I am not interested in having my club use FTH if I can't get it working properly with a modern look like my second club has. Left by myself, I see my only choice is to delete the whole darn thing and start over.

I gave you the link to the part of the documentation that deal with turning content on and off. You just need to read what we send you.

1. Look at our Quick Start Page... support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/quick-start-page
Some of that will have already been done for an existing website, but it will at least give you a basic path towards getting some results.

2. Get set up as the Club Website Admin
support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/w...-no-longer-available

3. Log in as the admin and access the Admin console. Focus 1st on what is in the Website Settings dialog that you see 1st when you access the Admin console.

Very important. You need to be open to learning new things. Much of the system is documented and we can help you figure out what documentation to look at first. For things that are not already documented, we can fill in those blanks for you.
