Timer card view for agendas
2 years 2 months ago
Our club would like to have a timer card view for meeting agendas, so that less practiced timers will know when to put up the green, yellow and red cards. Hopefully other clubs would appreciate this feature too. In the pre-Toasthost days, we had built it into our Excel agenda files, but nobody wants to give up the Toasthost agenda features.
We've tried copying the Toasthost agendas into Excel to add our own formulas that calculate the item durations and timer card times, but found the pasted content needs a lot of clean-up before that can be done. An agenda view that's ready for copy-pasting into an Excel file with time formulas would be less convenient than a pre-built timer card view, but still a valuable improvement.

Would you consider adding it into each role's description on your agenda and then replace all your agendas with that one agenda?
For Example: This is our club's description under each speech :
"Speaker #1
Toastmaster asks for 1 minute of silence. "
Instead you could put: "Green Light at 5 minutes, Yellow light at 6 Minutes and Red light at 7 minutes"
Yes, it would have to change when the speaker has different speech timing. And you could edit just in that agenda only.

Agenda roles can contain hyperlinks to internal (documents on your FTH site) or external resources. For example, the timer role configuration from my club;
Richard Taylor

I like your club's way of putting that in the agenda much better.

This is a great idea. We put the words in and have the timer report in our resource page. will speak with VPE to amend the agenda to include the hyperlinks. Love it. New Toastmasters will not have to go searching. Thanks for sharing this idea
