mass mailing feature tells VPE she's not logged in

Our VPE (who is very computer savvy) also lamented the following access problem:

I went to the club website and it popped up that new feature for selecting members for mass actions. I entered the email below, but then it wouldn’t send it. It kept saying I was no longer logged in.

I would open another window to the website, and it would show I was still logged in, so I would create it again (copy/paste), but it continued to fail over and over.

The general mailing features (members & officers) seem to work fine. In this case, she would like to select JUST the people with assigned roles for a direct reminder.

We really like the agenda feature and the mailing feature... and wonder what are we doing wrong in the selecting process?

I am confused.

Are you trying to email out agendas or are you trying to use the Send Basic Email feature in Membership Management?

It's the selectable recipients for email under whatever access the vpe has - membership management.

Agenda email process appears to work fine.

Ok, VPE does not have access to membership management unless your admin set up that access in Access Settings.

So, I am presuming your admin has set up your VPE with membership management access, and your vpe is having issues with the Send Basic Email in membership management? Correct?

Yes - Admin (me) has set up VPE to have access to the EMAIL& CONTACT forms. That seems to be where the problems are.
Sorry this took three tries to communicate clearly...

Ideas?

Nancy. Here is the thing. There is no way for "selecting members for mass actions" from Email and Contact Forms... that dialog is just for email and contact form settings... not actually doing those actions.

My hunch is that your VPE either was set up for access to the Membership Management dialog where you *can* send out emails from OR she encountered a bug with the membership management showing up when it should not have. We had a hiccup with that in the last week or two.

I would suggest the following:

1. If your VPE wants access to the Send Basic Email feature from Membership Management, then give her access to that via the Access Settings tab in the main Admin Console dialog.

2. Have your VPE click the blue link at the very bottom of the website ("Click here to reload website from server") on her computer to make sure she is running the latest code, not something buggy.

3. Also, make sure your VPE has her cookie settings set to work with FreeToastHost: support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/cookie-settings
