Cannot assign a member to role that has been manually added

I have manually changed our agenda template to include 1 additional role at the end of the agenda. I have ticked "This is a role for which members can sign up" but when it is added, I cannot assign any member to this role when I'm in the website's admin mode. All the other roles have a drop-down box with all of the current members names except for this one. I would like to figure how I can assign a member to this role.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you!

You need to surround the role Toastmaster with * in all 3 positions in the agenda.

*Toastmaster*

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the response but it's not the Toastmaster's role I'm struggling with. I've manually added an extra "SAA" role to the 2 speeches agenda template at the end of the meeting. A member can go in a "signup" for this role but I (as the webmaster/admin person) cannot assign anyone to this role. Do you know how to fix this?

Thanks,
Andrea

Andrea,

Because you are adding another instance of an existing role to the template, you do not get another drop down to assign someone to the role. (The two instances with the same role title are assumed to be the same person.) You will never get multiple drop downs for the same role, no matter how many times the roles show up in the agenda. If I allowed that, it would be the same as allowing multiple people to fill the same role in the same agenda, which we do not support.

Scroll up the first occurrence of the role and assign the person to the SAA role in the first occurrence. That is the "fix". (There is really nothing to fix here... template is working as intended.)
