Calendar Date does not stay selected?

hi - when viewing the agendas, I select the date I want and the page refreshes properly with the agenda contents. However, I cant see the Agenda Date anywhere - can the date either stay selected or can we add a "title" that lets us set the date?

The agenda date is in the coloured bar it the top of the agenda ....
