How do I create a social link using WeChat for a Member Profile on FreeToastHost? I've followed WeChat's instructions at stackoverflow.com/questions/35425553/how...echat-from-a-webpage using web.wechat.com and weixin://dl/chat?ID as well as tried linking to a QR code image. However, I get error messages (e.g., icon URL needs to refer to an image, social media link needs to be a valid URL).

weixin://dl/chat?ID will not look like a valid url to the code so it will not permit it to be used.

I have never seen that before... what is it?

I guess FTH hasn't yet developed a way to include WeChat, which is the default social media app for our club and China, as a social link.

My issue is *not* with the site, it is with the unusual protocol in the url. weixin://
Don't you have a way to access the site via http:// or https:// ??? :?

BTW, we do support Weibo, so it is not like we are trying to ignore China at all. This case is just a bit unusual.

The standard web login should work, assuming it uses a http or https address. For th logo, find a http or https link and you should be good to go.

I'm not sure what to do about the phone app. It's been a while since I used WeChat.

If you want to use QRcode, probably easier to hve it on the home page (or other page).

Thanks for the responsive and helpful feedback. I've tried linking to an URL with an image of my QR code and icon image in Google Drive, but it was rejected by FTH. However, I've successfully added WeChat as a social link when I link to the QR code image in Google Drive and a WeChat icon URL, such as www.freeiconspng.com/uploads/wechat-icon-10.jpg .

FYI, LinkedIn enables me to add WeChat as a social link, but I'm not sure how to make it work with FTH. Since Weibo only has 200 million daily users compared to WeChat's 700 million daily users, perhaps that is why LinkedIn created a plugin for this social media platform.
