Automatic Time Duration of agenda items?

I recently signed up for a special presentation for our next meeting, and selected:

Custom speech 35-40 minutes

I thought that the agenda times would be automatically adjusted, but it was indicated as 15 minutes, even after a refresh.
Shouldn't the length have been taken into account?
Is there a setting somewhere I need to change?

BTW, I went in and edited the current to have the correct duration for that item - I hope I have NOT changed it for all future "Speaker #4" slots.
