Club 6379 here, I'm trying to update a member's primary email address in the admin panel. I get this error message:
You have errors in your form below. Please scroll down and correct the following:
The primary e-mail address is already being used by another member in this club. Please choose another.
His new email is his "firstname@firstname lastname" and has been his secondary email address for many years. His old primary is a Road Runner address, so that needs to go away. I'm thinking you need to reset the counter, is that it?

We need at least a first name to investigate. Peter's address fits that description and is already set, with no secondary address.
If it is someone other than him, check your other lists (guest, prospects etc. for duplication)

Ah, my apologies. His first name is Thom. His current secondary should be his primary, which is thom@thomsinger.com. Currently his primary email is tsinger@austin.rr.com, which needs to be deleted or the counter reset.

The bounce count has nothing to do with this. The error message is due to detecting a potential duplicate email address issue.

I'd already verified that there was no duplicate email. I've just verified it again. How do we fix this?

Make sure you delete the current secondary address before adding it as the primary address (you drill down to do that from the view/edit profile button at the end of his record). You can't have the same address as primary and secondary.
