Is it possible to direct all emails sent to a non-existent address@myTMdomain to, say, admin@...? Someone registered with Twitter with an account that we don't have the details of, and twitter suggests it used our domain so I just want to capture the password reset email.

Please be specific. We cannot help with generalities.

We have a twitter account. Twitter says it sent an email to I*******@H********************.co.uk. We don't have any email addresses like that. I think a previous admin used an external email server. It is normal for web servers to allow any mail sent to an unknown address to be redirected to a known address, e.g. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Can we do that?

I see an email attempt from a twitter address to info@ your domain. Here is a 2 step process that I hope will work for you (I'm not entirely sure that it will work with a custom domain, but I hope it will):

1 - create a custom group called "Info" with yourself (or the member to receive the twitter email) as the only member (more detail here : support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/custom-groups)

2 - set up your email and contact forms to make email groups with only one member publicly accessible (more detail here: support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/email-and-contact-forms)

Future emails sent to info@.... will be forwarded to the member in the custom group

If that works I suggest that you change the contact address used by twitter to vppr@...... Reason is that if the person listed in the custom group leaves the club, the custom group will be deleted, but hopefully you'll always have a vppr (or redirect to secretary to be even safer)

Brian, it doesn't matter what the address is and I don't think it was info@ that Pam found, but it doesn't matter because I have actually found the old password out and changed it.

The question still stands. If someone sends an email to an address that does not exist, can we redirect that message to a specific email address that does exist, please?

No, I am not going to implement that. Junk email addresses get a bounce back--that is sufficient. I am not going to provide what would essentially be a funneling mechanism that would make it easier for spammers to send spam. Any such "fallback" email address that you would designate would likely just become a black hole unless it was monitored regularly, which I expect most clubs would not want to do. While you may believe that this would be useful for your club, that does not meet my bar of striving to implement functionality that would be useful for most clubs. Therefore, I am declining to implement this.
