Your help has been stunning in the past ... thank you. Club Number 941371

As Admin for https.eastbournespeakersclub.co.uk I am struggling to ensure that our new VPR has editing rights for our FreeToastHost site. I have listed her as havng rights and ticked the box to name her [Kirsty Hampton] as VPR. She still says she cannot access the editing rights or edit.

Please let me have a step by step for myself to ensure I am doing my bit right and also a step by step for her to get to edit.

Many thanks in advance .... Dec [Cluskey] DTM ... very frustrated!!!!

In most clubs the VPPR is the site admin and as such has full control over the site.

You have given the VPPR access to 2 parts of the site, when they log in with their name, they will see 2 new links in the members menu to access these parts of the site.

Many thanks ....

"You have given the VPPR access to 2 parts of the site" ... meaning? What parts?

I was hoping to have a situation where she could alter and edit the complete site whilst I remain an Admin. Almost as supervisor. You can tell I have had nightmares in turning over total exclusive admin facilities to a member who then does absolutely Zip with the site/page and meanwhile I am locked out. It is impossible to know how competent/enthusiastic/dedicated a VPPR is or will be. Handing over can be quite terminal?

I hope there is a solution ... I am sure many club site admins have the same issue.

The Access Settings tab in the Website Settings module indicates that your VPPR has access to the Website Settings module (including home page editing) and the Custom Web Pages module.

A Brian notes, you should expect your VPPR to have links to those in the members menu that they can access via their member login.

If you wish for your VPPR to have access to additional areas of your website, you can either give them access via the Access Settings tab, or you can share the Admin password (some clubs do that). If you do the latter, be aware that means that the person could also change the admin password or the access settings--only those with the admin password can do that.

Very many thanks Steve, I feel that the VPPR has never logged in as a member. I shall probably have to hold her hand as she does that. Sadly, she was not at the last meeting and will not be with us tomorrow night for our meeting.

I have let her have your reply to me ... I will wait and see how she gets on.

I may be back! Dec .....

That is fine. We do ask that you (and your VPPR) also strive to get familiar with our online docs as your time permits. While we certainly want to help resolve any challenges you may be facing with the system, many questions can be answered in our online docs, and we regularly refer users to those so that we are not just repeating things that we know are better answered in our online docs.

For this inquiry, you may want to take a look at the following online docs: Since it seems like you have what you need for now, I am going to close (lock) this thread.
