Hiding roles from recognition points

When I was double checking our August recognition points I found an issue with people I put into roles on the agenda that should be hidden from recognition, like the Sargent at arms who opens our meeting and the president who speaks at the beginning and the end of the meeting.  I recorded a video to show what happens.  Even though a role like Sargent at arms is hidden from points, it still seems to add 2 points to the members tally.  I’m assuming I must be doing something wrong when it comes to adding these NON POINT roles to an agenda.  It would be really nice to see in the roles report what roles are counting toward points and the points assigned.

Excluded from History does not mean do not count for Top Toastmasters points.

Got it.  So “Exclude from history / accomplishment reports” just removes it from the ROLES report.
I went back to that agenda and removed the exclude checkbox, re-reconciled and re-ran the report and his role of Sargent at arms did not show on the report.  What is it being hidden from?

As far as points, I guess that means there is no way to add anyone to the agenda in any role without giving them two points, the default for roles that are not defined?

So if every meeting opens with the Sargent at Arms reading the club mission and turning it over the president for announcements, if we want their roles and names on the agenda, they have to receive 2 points in addition to the 1 point per month they receive for being an officer?  I understand we could turn off the points for the catch all role, but we do have roles that you have not defined that should earn point, like our Jokemaster.  As of now, I want to leave the roles on the agenda so the timing of the agenda is correct, but I just leave the names off to avoid adding the points.

Last question - is there any place to see the points earned for each role to make it easy to verify?

Change the role to a non signup and remove the persons name.
Another way to think of it, is that in your club it is part of the Sgt@arms to perform that function, so why can't they get their points. If they are absent someone else will fill the role and get the points.

I thinky you could link the SAA Opening remarks with the SAA sign-up line by creating a role Called something like "SAA Welcome" and exclude it from history and accomplishments.

That's what I did with my timer reports.  I have two Timer Report lines (speech time reporting, evaluator time reporting) linked to my Timer by creating a Timer Role called Timer's Report and exclude it from history and accomplishments.  When a member sign's up for any one of those three lines they automaticall populate the all the Timer slots but should only get credit for 1.

**after coffee**  I realize your issue is different from mine.  Now it sinks in that your club gave a speaking role for the SAA.  Perhaps you need a new role, and points assignment for the Welcome for which you assign the SAA?
