Reviewed all. Comments below.
- Ah-Counter (Meeting_Role_Ah-Counter.pdf): Having all text italicized is a bit problematic, as unlike the T.I. material--Words may be inappropriate interjections, such as and, well, but, so and you know. Sounds may be ah, um or er.--it doesn't as clearly point out the no-no words. Italics are occasionally used to indicate spoken text, but since you already have quotes surrounding that material, I suggest the above italics scheme.
- Brief Meeting Role Descriptions (Meeting_Role_Descriptions.pdf):
I believe "Toaster" should be "Toastmaster" under the "IN THIS HANDOUT" block. On the "Keep it to 30 seconds or so" line, "doorway into" should be "doorway to" to be grammatically correct.
- General Evaluator (Meeting_Role_General_Evaluator.pdf): Same comment as above re: quoted text/italics, though here it's not problematic, so the change would be for consistency.
- Grammarian (Meeting_Role_Grammarian.pdf): I know T.I. lump the word of the day stuff in with the Grammarian's duties, so all I would suggest here is a note that some clubs have a separate Word Master. Maybe add an asterisk or a footnote number after "The Grammarian introduces new words to members," with the footnote reading "Some clubs have a separate Word Master who introduces the word of the day and reports on its usage." Under "YOUR DUTIES AT A GLANCE," "Send it for the agenda or prepare a visual aid showing the word, its part of speech, its definition, and it used in a sentence" is problematic. Send it to whom? Since FTH4 has the ability to accept the WOD, it's probably a good idea to tout that feature (had to plop it in the Meeting Notes box in FTH3). At the end of the sentence, suggest "and it used properly in a sentence," or better yet, continuing the "its" trend, "and its proper use in a sentence."
- Joke Master (Meeting_Role_Grammarian.pdf): "The role looks like the lightest job on the agenda and is one of the most demanding" introduces contrast, so ". . . on the agenda and is. . . ." should ahve the "and" replaced by "but."
- Table Topics Master (Meeting_Role_Table_Topics_Master.pdf
)
: The proper title (cf. "wears many hats" doc) is Topicsmaster (one word), so that needs to be corrected in the page/card title and second sentence in the first paragraph. Same italics/quotes comment from GE section above regarding consistency.
- Timer (Meeting_Role_Timer.pdf): Same italics/quotes comment from GE section above regarding consistency. "I signal with these lights" is problematic, in that the signal device varies amongst clubs. This might be a good place to implement your scheme for club-specific info, here perhaps using "[these lights]" or "[this signal device]" (which appears that way later on the card). Next, "Yellow means you are approaching your limit," while technically correct, is not at all helpful or accurate. The yellow goes up/on at the midpoint, the halfway point, of the speech.
I was getting ready to rant that "Toaster" should be "Toastmaster," as I've never encountered the former, but see that it's fine the way it is.
I hope to have been helpful with this material.
