Functions on FTH4 sites can't currently be hidden

At this time, functions on FTH4 sites cannot be hidden. We want clubs to see all of the features, and that's less likely to happen if those features are hidden. Thank you for your understanding.

Speech input hidden

In the FTH3 agenda, a speech role would have a special input field for title and speech details.

in FTH4 it’s not there.  Instead you see a role that says “Speech” and a button that says “Speech” right next to the “release” button.

i guarantee you people will accidentally click release when then mean to click the speech button so I recommend putting the button somewhere else.

also from a UX perspective the “speech” button doesn’t intuitively tell me that that is what I need to click to add my title, intro, and pathways.

maybe rename the button to “edit details”

Yes they are there.
Take the speakers role > Click Speech > Complete the speech details > save

Hi Brian,

In my original post I already describe how speech details are added. I still think they are hidden. But if you insist on keeping it like that, I have suggestions.

1. Can the “Speech” button be renamed to “Edit Details”?

By calling the button that edits the speech details “Speech”, you are creating a button that doesn’t describe what that button actually does. It’s better to rename it to “edit details” to make it more intuitive rather than rely on people to memorize what that button is suppose to do.

2. Can the “Speech” button be moved right next to the role name.

Having the speech button right next to release is a dangerous place to put the button. People will go to click the speech button but because of its proximity will fat finger press the release button. If they wrote speech details before, now it’s gone, forcing them to re-sign up and re-enter the details all over again.

Changing Release to Release Role, makes it even more clear.  Thank you!
