Thanks. I see that now. It worked OK up until this week though.
I think I changed it several years back after a flurry of messages that were eventually blacklisted.

When I say "not really supported", what I mean is that the system does not provide any consistent guarantee that something like will work (as a specific example). I do have a redirect in our htaccess file to attempt to handle that case and strip off the www, but it does not always work for every scenario (like dropping out the https://). Also, the system code does not handle that url at all (which is why I attempted to do the redirect).

Also, I am not sure I have ever seen the use of what is essentially 2 subdomains in front of a domain... maybe not really canonical? (not sure)

Therefore, you may get lucky in some cases, but our official party line is that it is not supported.

com is the top-level domain,
example is the second-level domain,
foo is the third-level domain,
bar is the fourth-level domain,
qux is the fifth-level domain.
And yes, you can have more levels (DNS calls them "labels").

We had them internally at IBM and I have seen HP use them internally.

Very nice, although all that is true at FTH we do not support.
