Linking files in File Manager to a set of words

I am having a tough time resolving an issue...

Have created a PUBLIC page "Minutes_Newsletters". On that page, I have listed the date of the meeting. The minutes have been placed into the File Manager section, with names that include a numeric value for the date of the minutes. I want to highlight the date on the Public page, create a hyperlink to the specific file in the File Manager. That way, the file can download and open in a new screen. They can read the minutes and then either save them to their own computer file, or close the file.

When I try to enter a URL, it is not recognized and no connection is made.

Can I make it work this way, or do I need to do something different?

Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely

Dennis Jacobs, President

You need to use the direct URL from the file download box. See support.toastmastersclubs.org/file-manag...-in-the-file-manager for details.

Thank you, Jane for the response... I have seen this information page (which you reference) as I was reviewing the procedure, and attempting to create the hyperlink.

My questions focus on: when does this information become visible? How can I make it appear?

When I create the text on the web page, I then highlight it. Next step is to click on the "Link" icon. When I do that, the only thing that comes up is a link box that asks me for the URL. (See attachment: Link Problem01.doc)

How can I get the file download box (that you reference) to appear on my screen so I can complete this process?

You need to go to Member Downloads - you need to be logged in as a member - and click on the item as though you were going to download it. That's when the download box comes up.
