Uploading pictures to server

I am uploading a picture - jpg, that I have saved in photoshop for web. It shows as a broken picture when I upload to the server. How do I get my picture uploaded to server so that I can add it to our homepage. I would say that photoshop has put it in the correct web jpg format. What am I not doing???
