Server Not Working

I cannot open www.scientificallyspeaking.org in either Firefox or Safari. Neither can another individual. We have never had issues before. Any suggestions?

When I went to 1778344.toastmastersclubs.org your site worked just fine.

The link you posted ( www.scientificallyspeaking.org didn't work. FYI - could be your domain name expired? or DNS servers not pointing the right way.. one of our other Ambassadors will probably be able to let you know more about that part.

From what I am able to determine, it looks like you recently registered this domain, correct?
Also, looks like whois info is blocked or unavailable for some reason. ??? That makes it difficult for us to help you with domain issues.

Just typing the domain name in the domain name box in the admin console does not make it work correctly, You have to take the steps in the docs about custom domain names. Did you do that? I am not getting any DNS record information via VIewDNS.info

I would strongly recommend also setting up a website alias as a "backup" until you get the custom domain name working properly. I know it says "OR" in the admin console, but you can set up both... they will both work as well as access via the club number.

Thank you. I did not register this domain recently. Our site was created several years ago, but sat dormant for about 18 months. I logged in as admin a few months ago to get it functional again. The "Custom Web Domain" region already had www.scientificallyspeaking.org typed in. However, it never occurred to me that the previous webmaster never set up a custom website domain. It seems a little tricky considering I am a novice. I set up an alias which seems to work. I guess I can just use this for now. Thank you for your prompt help!

It is possible that it was set up correctly and active at one point, but expired and not renewed at the registrar. For some clubs, they are left scrambling a bit once this happens, as the technically inclined person that set up the custom domain may no longer be with the club. (This is why I decided to add a registrar Information box in the next update.)

If you are switching to an alias, you need to look at every place you have your website address referenced, such as on Toastmasters International Find-A-Club. You are going to want to make sure people can find your club website after the change.
