Member login issue was created by 535788
Member of club #3850. I am unable to access any of the 6 menu items listed under Members Only AFTER I have done my member login. The login appears to be ok. However, when I select a menu item, the next screen IS NOT that of the menu item, but takes me back to the home page screen. When I try to select an item under Members Only, it appears as if my member login wasn't successful. I've tried this several times over the last few days with the same result. Why?

Hi, Shirley, I am the system developer.

I looked at your club membership roster, and everything looks fine there.

I was also able to log in as you without any issues.

Have you verified that your cookies are set up correctly? The system puts small files called cookies on your computer to help it remember that you are logged in. If your browser is not set to allow that, then the system will forget that you are logged in and you will have strange things happening like you are describing.

Our doc on configuring your cookie settings on your browser is here: support.toastmastersclubs.org/component/...item/cookie-settings

Also, you may want to click the blue "Reload website from server" link at the very bottom of the screen (scroll down) on the off chance that you are not running the latest code from the server.

I looked at the documentation for cookie settings and changed my settings for Internet Exployer cookie settings per the FTH documentation. I am now able to do the member login and access the menu items listed. I don't understand why I needed to change the cookie settings. I've accessed this club website for 3+ years and never had member login issues previously. I never have changed cookie settings on my computer since it was installed. I suspect that problems for users get created when the FTH website is "enhanced" and it isn't a function of what one's computer is or is not accepting.

Internet Explorer is notorious for having changing cookie settings changed by security software like Norton.

This has been an issue with IE since FTH started, FF and chrome, and Safari do not seem to have the same problem.
