floater message won't accept url was created by MDTM2257

The floater message won't accept the entire url link to a file in the file manager.....cuts the last part of it off.
Suggestions?

Does FTH support bit.ly?

To answer my own question: yes, the bit.ly did work on Chrome and Firefox.
