I tried to open the membership management page to update some members and got a javascript error. The message said to notify you. I've attached a screen print of the error.

Replied by RogerM on topic Membership Management Page fails to open
Allan,

What browser are you using? I can replicate this in Chrome, IE 10 and in Mozilla followed by my attachment.

Steve, any ideas?

Roger,
I'm using Chrome Version 39.0.2171.99 m

but since you asked I went and tried IE11 and got the same error

Edit 1:
Since it gave the same error on 2 different browsers I thought I'd take the next step and try a different computer. Same result. Could an update to Java be required?

Edit 2:
With the time-zone difference between us you're probably sleeping now, so I went ahead and updated Java (to version 8) and uninstalled all older versions. Still the same error.

Edit 3:
I don't know what prompted me to do this but I tried opening Membership Management on two other clubs (1976054 and 3692031) and had no problem, so the error (which still happens) seems to be related to this particular club (3746834) rather than anything to do with Java or the browser.

This should be fixed now. It actually was the following on the Meet Our Members page that was messing things up in the data transfer: \(^o^)/~
I think the data transfer mechanism thought it looked like a formatting code it should interpret. ;)

Don't worry about it... I tweaked the server code so that it is no longer an issue. (No need to remove that text.)

Also, FYI, we do not use Java anywhere in the system, so updating Java will not make a difference. We JavaScript, but that is a different language than Java.
