Custom domain not working

We've had a club domain for 10+ yrs. I followed your instructions here for Godaddy:
support.toastmastersclubs.org/component/...dns-settings-godaddy

I called Godaddy tech support today after waiting > 72 hrs for DNS change to propagate. He verified on independent website network-tools.com that everything should be fine (attached).

However, when I type 'talkingideas.org' into the Custom Website Domain box, I get the following error:

You have errors in your form below. Please scroll down and correct the following:

Basic Settings Tab - This domain is not yet pointing to the IP address 50.19.253.65. In your domain registrar's DNS area, modify the exisitng "A" and "MX" records for this domain, to point to 50.19.253.65, wait the amount of time as specified by your domain host, then try again.

How do I get our domain to work?
Thanks,
Mike A.

Our internal DNS checker is apparently not yet picking up the change. I think a lot of this depends on which name server is checked. Sometimes, you can see that the changes are propagated when checking on one name server, but not on another.

I know our DNS checker works, so maybe give it a bit more time.

Also, I am not convinced that the mail is correctly tied to our server. The MX record enables email to be handled by mail server, but there is typically another A record that assigns mail.talkingideas.org (the mail server) to our server's ip address. Also, I am used to seeing another A record that enables the use of www with the domain name. However, GoDaddy has changed their website a bit--they may be setting those up automatically now, so you may want to check with them.

Lastly, you can simplify getting support in these forums if you just put your club number in your forum signature--see the link in my signature for how to do that.

I compared this club's DNS settings with those for Brian's club, which we know works. The only difference is that there's no entry for " www.talkingideas.org ". That may be where the problem lies.

Thanks for your quick response.

Domaintools.com also shows the IP Address = 50.19.253.65

I copied the setup instructions previously mentioned. I attached my Godaddy DNS Zone page for comparison, everything looks the same to me. Any ideas? Or just wait some more for your DNS checker to find it?

I added our club # in my signature but I thought our website 9375.toastmastersclubs.org would append too. I would like to change my profile name from 'akinsm' to 'MikeA' for privacy reasons. I looked all over but can't see how to do that because it's grayed out. Is that something you can do?

Thanks,
Mike A.

Thanks Jane. I was typing while you were responding so I noticed after posting. I added www to A (Host) section and will wait to see if propagation resolves issue.

Members can't change their own names on this forum. I'll have a look and see what can be done.
